Christian Hospital Diptipur

The Christian Hospital Diptipur offers a healing ministry to the people of Diptipur and its surrounding area. See the News Page for the latest news about the work of the hospital and the Prayer Page for prayer requests.

The hospital was founded in 1957 (see details on the History Page) and so celebrated its Golden Jubilee in December 2007. You can download a copy of the Golden Jubilee Souvenir Booklet and a Golden Jubilee Photo Feature from the History Page. See the Maps Page to find out where it is located - in a fairly remote area of the Bargarh District in the Indian State of Orissa.

The present interim Acting Director of the hospital is Dr Ipsita Dip (contact details). You can see photographs of the work of the hospital and its staff on the Photos Page. You can read some statistics about the hospital's healing ministry on the Facts Page.

The hospital comes under the Sambalpur Diocese of the Church of North India. The Bishop of Samalpur is Rt Rev Dr C K Das and he is based on the Mission Compound at Bolangir.

The town of Diptipur (a name which means "Village of Light") only came into being after the land was chosen as the site for the hospital in the early 1950s.
