| 1950 | Rev Eric Payne and Rev Franklin White plan to start a hospital in Kantapali which is 45 kms from Diptipur. Rev J K Moharty, Rev Dr Benjamin Pradha, Rai Bahadur, Samuel Das, Rev Samuel Choudhary along with Dr Sukhnandan and Rev Peter from Mungeli went to see Kantapali for the hospital project. |
| 1951-52 | Decision taken to have the hospital at Diptipur due to geographical situation of the place being close to Bolangir, Khariar and Sambalpur. |
| 3 July 1953 | Land bought from the Jhungalpalli landlords. |
| 1954 | The first building - the Boys' Hostel is built. |
| 1955-56 | Mrs Betty Payne and Mrs Ada White - both of whom were nurses started a single room clinic, and were later joined by Mr Snehalal who was a trained compounder. |
| 1957 | Hospital building construction overseen by Rev Eric Payne and Rev Franklin White. Dr Paul Detweiler arrives as the first missionary doctor at Diptipur. Dr Sukhnandan conducts eye camps. |
| 1961 | Laboratory facility started. |
| 26th Dec 1963 | Dr Sukant Singh arrives in Diptipur and joins Rev John Blackmore. |
| 1968 | Dr Dalaganjan Suna joins as Director. Dr Sukant Singh takes over from Dr Stanley F Thomas at Moorshead Memorial, G Udaygiri. Miss Marilyn M Mills joins Diptipur as Nursing Superintendent. |
| 1969 | Small generator from Jagdeeshpur supplies electricity. |
| 1975 | The Government starts supplying electricity to the hospital. |
| 1977 | CBM aided ophthalmic work started. |
| 1980 | 300 mA X-ray machine bought. It took two years to be installed and the first X-ray was taken in September 1982. Miss M M Mills leaves Diptipur. |
| 15th Dec 1981 | Inauguration of CBM block - the Ophthalmic Service Centre. |
| 9th Nov 1988 | Eye Operation Theatre inaugurated. |
| 1984-1995 | Maximum number of annual eye surgeries by hospital in state. |
| Dec 1996 | Dr Suna achieves attentuation of service as Director. |
| 1997 | Dr P K Singh joins the hospital. Continues till 1st Oct 2000. Dr Jayaynand Mallick takes over as Director till 5th Feb 2002. |
| 21st Jan 2000 | Tragic car accident in which Rt Rev Lingaraj Tandy (Bishop of Sambalpur) dies on the spot and Dr Suna dies in the hospital. |
| Feb 2003 | The hospital closes on 6th June 2003 after death of Dr Tirkey. |
| 19th Nov 2003 | The Henrys reopen the doors of the hospital - the revival begins. Global Ministries help clear liabilities. |
| 8th May 2004 | Dr Rajnish Samal joins as the Director. |
| 2005 | Ultrasound, ECG and Pulse Oximeter obtained - supported by Mr Lew Davis from USA and the Jayakaran family in Chennai. Male ward is renovated, work supported by IMSTIN, Tirunelveli. |
| 2006 | Gift from the Payne family - Portable X-ray, Oxygen Concentrator, OT equipments obtained. Semi-automatic analyser given by the Hagen family in memory of Geoffrey Hagen. |
| 2007 | Second Sight UK
joins hospital as partner in campaign to eliminate cataract blindness in the region. |
| 2008 | Communal anti-Christian violence throughout Orissa forces the temporary closure of the Hospital in autumn 2008. Dr Rajnish Samal leaves and Dr Ipsita Dip takes over as Acting Director in November 2008. |
| 2009 | Eye Camps resume in January 2009 supported by Second Sight UK with armed police still camping in the Hospital grounds and guarding it against a resumption of communal violence. |
